Fractal Geometries for Wireless Communications

Submission deadline: 07/15/2013

Scope and purposes

Fractal structures have been attracting intensive research in the field of wireless communication for quite some time. They can be used as antennas or filters with enhanced features including miniaturized area, multiband operation, and tuning capability. However challenges still remain concerning their implementation, modeling, and optimization.

The objective of this special issue is to provide an overview of recent advances and emerging applications of fractal structures in wireless communications.

Topics of primary interest include, but are not limited to:
• Electromagnetic field theory of Fractal Geometries
• Ultra-wide band Fractal Antennas
• Multiband Fractal antennas for Mobile communication
• Antenna Miniaturization using Fractals
• MIMO Fractal Antennas
• On-chip Fractal Antennas
• Numerical Electromagnetic Modeling and Simulation of Fractals
• Fractal Antennas for RFID Applications
• Fractal Filters: Structures, theory and Applications
• Fractal resonators
• New Applications of Fractal Structures for Wireless Communications
