As the transportation process is a combination of three components (Vehicle, Driver and Road), the vehicles development is a large concern for the transportation engineering. Also, due to the importance of the transportation under every circumstance, e.g., the transportation process may require high speeds vehicles, which may turn the transportation process more unsafe. Due to that fact a significant amount of research is currently being carried out to improve vehicle safety and ride comfort to leads the transportation process to be safe and comfortable. Therefore, this special Issue of the International Journal of Traffic and Transportation Engineering features new discoveries and advances in the research and development of the Vehicles Intelligent Systems.
The aim of this special issue is to foster the advanced technical and industrial researches, also the state-of-the-arts in the intelligent vehicle systems and subsystems. In other word, the special issue focuses on the advances in the smart suspension systems, brake systems, steering systems, driver assistant systems and etc. based on computer simulations and tests. It brings together research scientists and design engineers from across the globe to explore current issues regarding Vehicles Intelligent Systems.
This issue provides a platform intended to foster emerging ideas regarding the development of Vehicles Intelligent Systems to improve the vehicle safety and ride comfort and as a result the transportation process performance.
