Scope and purposes
|
Rheology is usefull for humanity and since centuries ago their concepts are applied. The casting of iron and others metals, the processing of ore, the extrusion of polymers, the manufacturing of foods and drugs, oil explotation, processing of natural rubber latex (NRL) etc. All or almost of all implies on knowledgment of rheology. For these reasons, this issue aims to bring new discussions about the rheology applications in distinct industrial sectors.

Scope and purposes
|
Presently, there is a desire and a need to serve the scientific and engineering communities by producing a special issue of the esteemed American Journal of Materials Science, which will have a focused compendium of scholarly works describing the production, characterization, or usage of organic thin films and crystals with nano-particle dopants, as such material systems can have broad applications of being incorporated into electronic, optoelectronic, sensors and other instrumentations. The objective of this initiative is to fulfill the impending desire and need by determining properties and usage of Condensed Matter systems of atoms, molecules, and structures. Finally, the scope of this project embraces the important issues of crystals and organic thin films with dopants as may be applicable to developing technologies.

Scope and purposes
|
In the present special issue, we have focused on wear, fracture and fatigue properties in coating systems. We encourage researchers to submit their original articles, in which new, innovative and evaluable works have been performed, by both numerical and experimental techniques. Specifically, we are interested in researches that could be proposed in material characterizations and behavior evaluations of coatings under wear and fatigue phenomena, numerical and experimental techniques for coatings under wear and fatigue phenomena, applications of coatings in internal combustion engines and gas turbines, wear and friction phenomena in coatings, isothermal/un-isothermal fatigue behaviors in coatings, coating layers for improving fatigue properties and the wear resistance, depositing coatings by different spraying techniques, surface modifications with various types of coatings, etc.

Solid superacid catalyst is one of the most important areas of research and has assumed great relevance as an economic alternative to many homogeneously catalyzed, industrially important reactions. It can also be designed to give higher activity, selectivity, regenerability and longer catalyst life. Recently, various kinds of solid superacids have been developed. Superacid catalysts can be applied for different catalytic reactions such as; esterification, isomerization, alkylation, polymerization, cracking, other acid catalyzed reactions (acylation, etherification, acetalization, nitration, disproportionation, etc.).
