The diagnosis of odontogenic pathologies is a very challenging and crucial task .In many scenario it is observed that these pathologies are often misdiagnosed by general pathologist as the dependence of the medical fraternity in terms of pathological diagnosis is more inclined towards general pathologist than oral and faciomaxillary pathologists. These pathological entities mainly origin from dental apparatus or associated areas, may look small in intial appearance but often leads to a disastrous form. This usually happens due to underestimating their potential of growth and misdiagnosis. The advent of various Immunohistochemical markers also helps in correlating these lesions to other pathological entities. These researches in these molecular markers too help us to find a way towards targeted therapy.
