Mining Safety Equipment

Submission deadline: 08/15/2013

Scope and purposes

Mining is a gigantic task to extract valuable minerals from the womb of the mother earth, which are impossible to manufacture in the laboratory/industry abundantly. As Mining is performed against the nature, accident is inevitable during operation. To avoid accidental consequences, it is quintessential to use safe equipment at each step of mine operation. So equipment used for mining require to study in detail right from manufacturing to safe service in the installation.

Topics of primary interest include, but are not limited to:
• Design & Development of Mine Transport System;
• Wire ropes and their attachments;
• Defects in Materials;
• Destructive and Non-destructive Test Methods;
• Failure Analysis and Prevention;
• Quality and Reliability;
• Mine Safety Policy and Regulation;
• Condition Monitoring and Life Expediency.
